Welcome to Mrs. Young's calculus class blog! Each week, I will start a new post. Students, you can write questions for me or chat with each other about how to solve a particular problem. As part of your class participation grade each week, every student must comment at least once to my post or another student's comment. I look forward to spending this year with you. Enjoy!

We're Almost There!

We have almost made it to the end! Your AP exam is in about 2 weeks. This week we are going to start a full-length timed practice test and I will score it using the AP scoring guidelines. As you are taking the timed practice test this week, I'd like you to comment about what your thoughts and feelings are about it.

  1. Its really hard. I forgot some of them. And my AP test is together with my physics test. so thatll be a lot of work for me to deal with. I hope I can handle it.

  2. It is a lot to remember! We haven't even started the timed practice test yet. Perhaps you can let us know how you are feeling later on in the week.

  3. The thing that I am most concerned about on the AP exam is timing. I don't always manage my time well so I'm really gonna have to pay close attention to the clock and work hard to stay on track. I also hope that I remember shortcuts that you have taught us to cut time. So far, the exam doesn't seem to be extremely hard but i don't want to jinx myself...knock on wood:P

  4. So far the practice test is not as difficult as I expected it to be, however, I feel like I might have made some small mistakes on certain problems that caused me to get the incorrect answer. I think I need to go over the basics again and get all the details down. Then I think I'll feel better prepared for the exam.

  5. AP Calculus is really difficult test. I don't expect 5 on the test, but I really want to get higher than 3. For one year, I think I tried hard to learn all the equations and staff. We still have 2 more weeks and I want to study hard to achieve my goal. I am very nervous to take that test. ㅠㅠ

  6. I'm nervous to take this AP test. Timing is my most problem. I always have timing issue which makes me more nervous. I don't really expect 5 on my AP test, but I will try my best. Little mistakes take points... I will check twice. :(

  7. AP Calculus is a hard test. You have to study all the materials we learned throughout the year. I am nervous about this test, so I need to practice more and review. I like to get 5 in this test.

  8. The first multiple choice section wasn't too bad! I like the non-calculator part better than the calculator parts we've taken so far!

  9. I actually feel pretty good on the timing part of it, so that is good! But, I agree with Alexa. The non-calculator part wasn't bad at all, I feel confident on that. Its the calculator part that has me worried.

  10. For me I thought that it was not to bad. I did good on the timing but there were some questions I had no clue what to do. The non-calculator part of it was easier for me as well and the calculator part will be harder and more of a challenge.
