Week 4 of the 4th Quarter

As you know, April is math awareness month. Every year, a theme is chosen for math awareness month. This year's theme is "Mathematics, Statistics, and the Data Deluge: What would you do with all this data?" Visit the math awareness website, www.mathaware.org. I'd like to hear your comments about living is such a data-driven, informational technology society, i.e. do you think it is good, bad, what do you see for the future? How is mathematics and statistics vital to our world today?

    The all the data in this world, we can live our lives easier. For example, businessmen use mathematics and statistics to calculate the ways to earn more profits. Math is good for our world. With all the data we have, great inventions that help us in many ways such as work come into being.

    Data is very helpful to our world because we are able to find out how much of one product to make or how the sales are going on the movie that is coming out. People are able to make new things and figure out what people could want to purchase. Math helps us everyday even when we don't realize it.

    We need data for living in this world. Everything comes from data such as education, finance, culture, and economy. Especially, in finance mathmetics and statistic are really important. It helps to make profits from market and to study how to make better goods. Math includes in every part of our real life.

    Data is very important in this world. By using data, we can organize all the statistics very easily. For example, all the market use data to organize their information. They can easily see their profit and where all the money went. Math does help people in many ways.

    I think that's a good thing. The data base make our world more organized and much easier to operate. And I don't think the development of data base used to be an alternative change. The way our wourld function necessitate the appearence of either statistics and mathmetics.

    The advancements in technology and data organizing have greatly impacted the world. It is now easy to file and sort data because of computers. Charts and graphs are easily made on computers now because of the technology we have, which helps businesses with their math and accounting needs. However, you have to be careful with so much data in the world that you sort through it to make sure it is reliable information and statistics.

    Mathematics, statistics and technology are all very valuable in our world today. Many conveniences have been provided through these technologies, and much more can be accomplished. This can be a good thing to be technology-driven; however, we must also be careful to not get too caught up in technology and remember what is around us.

    Mathematics and statistics are very valuable to our culture because we use it so often... whether it be through cell phones, computers, kindles, ipads/ipods, etc. Our world is completely surrounded with technology. It's amazing how much our society has progressed in just the last few decades. When my parents were young they communicated through a land line.. they couldn't just send a real quick txt. We hardly even use our home phone now because our cell phones are so much more convenient.A negative of this convenience could be that verbal/personal communication dwindles drastically because most communication is done through txting and/or emailing

    All the data in the world is available to most people through internet. We can get whatever we want through information most of the time, and mathematics and statistics are absolute help to our society. It is help to business owner or people who deal with money. Moreover, we have to be careful and use our given technology wisely. Otherwise, it will ruin your own life.

    I think that the ability to instantly access almost all information is good, but i think that we have become lazy. Also i do not believe that the ability to be in constant contact is totally positive for relationships.
